Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Machinist Levels 2, 3, and 4 to join a precision manufacturing and machine shop environment. This is a full-time, non-exempt opportunity for a highly skilled machinist with extensive experience operating, setting up, programming, and inspecting parts produced on CNC and manual machining equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, reading complex engineering drawings, and maintaining demanding quality standards. This is a senior-level machining opportunity for someone who can do more than simply operate a machine. You'll be expected to handle advanced setups, edit and write CNC programs, run multiple machines simultaneously, inspect your own work, and support final inspection when needed. You'll also have the opportunity to work directly with engineers, troubleshoot machining challenges, and help train less-experienced machinists. Required Skills & Experience High school diploma or GED 5+ years of experience working with CNC machinery and manual machining equipment Experience with CNC lathes and machining centers Experience with manual mills, lathes, grinders, drills, and related machining equipment Advanced CNC machine setup and operation experience Ability to edit and write CNC programs Ability to set up, operate, and program multiple CNC machines simultaneously Strong engineering print reading skills Understanding of datums, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tolerances, and multiple drawing views Ability to accurately inspect and measure machined parts Experience using precision inspection and measurement tools Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Desired Skills & Experience Final Inspection experience or certification Experience qualifying parts for final inspection Experience working directly with mechanical engineers Experience machining complex or tight-tolerance components Experience with basic mechanical assembly Experience troubleshooting machining and equipment issues Experience training or mentoring junior machinists Familiarity with ISO quality systems Experience working in a precision manufacturing environment Ability to perform multiple machining operations while maintaining consistent quality What You Will Be Doing Set up and operate CNC lathes and machining centers Perform manual machining operations as required Edit and write CNC programs to maintain quality and production requirements Run and program multiple CNC machines simultaneously Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, datums, tolerances, and drawing views Measure and inspect completed parts using appropriate precision inspection tools Qualify parts for final inspection and assist with final inspection activities Perform advanced machine setups and make necessary program adjustments Perform basic mechanical assembly as required Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain part quality Perform routine machine maintenance as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all required safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures Communicate with engineers and other manufacturing personnel regarding machining requirements and issues Train new employees and less-experienced machinists as directed Complete additional manufacturing and machining assignments as needed Tech Breakdown 35% CNC Machining / Machine Operation 20% CNC Setup & Programming 15% Manual Machining 15% Inspection / Measurement / Quality 10% Troubleshooting / Maintenance 5% Assembly / Other Manufacturing Support Daily Responsibilities 70% Hands-On Machining & Machine Operation 15% Setup, Programming & Troubleshooting 10% Inspection & Quality Control 5% Team Collaboration / Training The Offer Full-time, non-exempt position Senior-level machining responsibilities Opportunity to work with CNC and manual machining equipment Exposure to advanced setups, programming, inspection, and precision manufacturing Direct collaboration with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams Opportunity to train and mentor less-experienced machinists Stable manufacturing environment with opportunities to expand technical skills You will receive the following benefits: Medical Insurance Dental Benefits Vision Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays 401(k) Employee Development and Training Opportunities Safe and Collaborative Manufacturing Environment Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis now and in the future.
