Shift :

This position will take place on 2nd shift but will require 1st shift training. There is a 10% 2nd shift premium that will go into effect upon switching to 2nd shift after completing the 1st shift training.

Job Summary :

As a 2nd shift Team Leader in our Machining Department, you'll be a key player in maintaining a smooth flow between shifts, fostering a culture of teamwork, and ensuring that production goals are completed on a timely basis without compromising safety or quality.

Responsibilities :

Lead Duties:

Monitor team members to ensure they are being safe, punctual, and executing their assigned job role(s) Communicate shift updates, production status, and any issues to management and/or incoming shifts Troubleshoot issues and escalate issues to the Machining Supervisor as needed Assure that scheduled workloads are completed on a timely basis following all directives, standard operating procedures, and work instructions Lead by example and enforce company policies and procedures Train and mentor team members, helping them achieve expected job performance, develop technical skills, and grow in their roles Participate in the annual review process of assigned staff Help conduct corrective action training to overcome known errors as needed Communicate with internal cross functional teams to ensure seamless process flows Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed Utilize SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and other applicable software Perform other duties as assigned

Machining Duties:

Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine Set up, load, and operate CNC machines to produce parts per prints Edit in G-code and manually program using Mazatrol Control or other applicable machine control Set up fixtures and come up with setups on the machine Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections Set up cutters in holders and adjust height and length Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements Use various hand tools to finish parts and check Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S) Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixtures and other essential equipment Operate various machines in the department as needed

Skills :

SAP (or other ERP system) and Microsoft Office Suite experience Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools Strong skills in leadership, communication, collaboration, and attention to detail Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure Inventory control and material handling Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or technical degree preferred At least 4 years of progressive experience in CNC machining required Previous leadership experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of SAP Applications and MS Office Suite Pay:

$35.00 - $42.00 per hour
