Fives Gidding & Lewis is actively seeking CNC Machinists to join our team in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Position Summary

Performs a wide range of duties to set up, adjust and operate a CNC machine. Machine surfaces to close tolerances involving combinations of operations such as milling, turning, boring, recessing, drilling, tapping, etc. This requires skill, judgment and knowledge related to precision machining techniques and finishes. Familiarity with CNC machine tool operational procedures as well as knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read blueprints. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will: Set up and run CNC machine through operation sequences to check setup, set tools, tooling operational sequences, clearances, speeds, feeds, etc., and adjust machine to correct.

Work from drawings and setup instructions to load, position, align and secure workpiece in machine.

Observe operation while machining and edit work & tooling offsets as needed.

Study and work from part drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece. Work to very close tolerances.

Use a range of measuring instruments to make set-ups, adjustments and to check work

Maintain machine and work area in a clean and orderly manner. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess: 5+ years of related experience or a certificate/degree in a machinist program.

Knowledge of machining methods, tooling, inserts and cutting qualities of metals. Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and blueprint reading

Ability to use shop math

Knowledge of various types of precision measuring instruments

Ability to work on a variety of metals, selecting proper feed, speed, etc. and work to close tolerances. What We Offer
