Competitive benefits package About the Opportunity Genesis Technical Staffing is recruiting a Cutting Tool Specialist for a direct hire role with an established industrial distributor based in Mobile. This is a field sales position for a technical expert who knows machining inside and out and wants to turn that knowledge into revenue growth. You'll be the go-to cutting tool authority for a territory. You'll partner with account managers, win new business, and help customers cut costs and improve productivity. What You'll Do Grow Revenue and Own Your Territory Meet and exceed sales goals for cutting tools and related metalworking products Build and carry out a territory plan that drives new business, share-of-wallet growth, and margin improvement Prospect, qualify, and close new cutting tool opportunities Carry out corporate account initiatives and product strategies in your territory Solve Problems for Customers Build trusted relationships with decision-makers, machine operators, and engineers Learn each customer's machining processes, workflows, and cost drivers to uncover opportunities Lead large cutting tool and machine tool projects from first conversation to close Run tool tests, trials, and demos that show measurable cost savings Be the Technical Resource for the Sales Team Support account managers with technical expertise, sales strategy, and joint customer visits Give the inside sales team clear direction on quotes, projects, and follow-up Support both large strategic accounts and smaller remote accounts Train sales team members on CNC machining basics and cutting tool applications Make regular branch visits to identify opportunities and support local sales Lead Manufacturer and Product Strategy Build and manage relationships with cutting tool manufacturers Lead manufacturer-driven sales programs and product rollouts Recommend preferred manufacturers to maximize discounts and margins Stay current on new cutting tool technology through manufacturer training and industry events Support the Bigger Picture Help management with large quotes and recommend pricing and margin strategies Help build standardized cutting tool inventories Work with e-commerce and marketing teams Help hire and develop future cutting tool sales talent What You Bring 5+ years of cutting tool experience High school diploma required; trade school diploma preferred Distribution or technical sales experience preferred Strong understanding of CNC machining and metalworking applications Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills Computer proficiency; ERP experience preferred Ability to juggle multiple sales priorities with urgency and accountability A competitive, self-driven sales mindset Work Environment and Physical Requirements This role splits time between the office, the warehouse, and customer sites. Field work may include outdoor weather conditions, lifting products up to 75 lbs., climbing ladders, operating industrial equipment, and demonstrating products. Occasional warehouse work and driving company vehicles may also be required. Travel Up to 20% travel, with occasional overnight stays. Why Apply?
