Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator/Equipment operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating various machinery and equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production process runs smoothly and meets quality standards. Day & Night Shifts Job Description The Operator sets up the machinery, monitors the production process, and makes adjustments when needed to ensure the quality and consistency of the output. They must also inspect, clean, and maintain the equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure safety. This position may require physical stamina to keep up with the demands of the job and a good understanding of mechanical systems is crucial. Responsible for all mill operations in a safe and efficient manner. Attach and fill the super sacks with crumb rubber. Check the ambient temperature of the sack. Label the product with product type, weight, shift, date, etc. Remove the sack and cover with a slip-on bag. Band the covered sack to the pallet. Stage for order fulfillment or inventory. Complete daily production log for each sack produced with time, temperature, weight and feed rate. Complete daily forklift inspection report. Perform daily equipment mill inspection report documenting condition of screens, grease levels, bearing temperatures, roll-surface temperatures, materials inventory, fault codes, and any deficiencies in the equipment so that maintenance can order parts and schedule repairs. Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures for mill equipment. Check settings and operation of machines to ensure accuracy of output. Monitor the production process and check output to spot any defects. Maintain and clean machines and work areas. Assist with maintenance and repair, as needed. Follow all legal and company health and safety guidelines. Working Conditions Work in a covered warehouse environment. May be required to work extended hours and/or extra shifts, as needed. Standard work shift hours and days off are subject to change. Qualifications Previous experience in plant operations or other related fields, preferred. Understanding of, and ability to, troubleshoot issues relating to conveyors, elevators, augers, motors, and gear boxes, preferred. Familiarity with plant tools and equipment. Ability to handle physical workload. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, unassisted. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
