Job Description

Machine Operator First Shift - El Cajon - $20-22/hr Job Description The Machine Operator runs CNC production equipment by loading parts, initiating machine cycles, and performing basic measurement and visual inspections to ensure consistent product quality. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to documented procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC equipment by loading parts, starting machine cycles, and monitoring equipment during production. Perform basic dimensional inspections using measuring tools such as calipers and gauges to verify part specifications. Conduct visual inspections of parts to identify cosmetic issues and obvious defects before moving product forward. Follow documented work instructions, routers, and quality standards to ensure consistent and reliable output. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free machine area to support safety and efficiency. Operate multiple machines when trained and as production needs require. Report machine malfunctions, quality concerns, or unusual conditions promptly to appropriate personnel. Support team production goals by performing additional tasks as assigned to meet output targets. Follow Quality Management System policies and procedures to maintain product consistency and compliance. Essential Skills Hands-on experience operating CNC production equipment. Ability to load parts, initiate machine cycles, and monitor machine operation safely and efficiently. Proficiency using basic measuring tools such as calipers and gauges to verify part dimensions. Capability to perform visual inspections to identify cosmetic and obvious defects in parts. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in following documented work instructions and routers. Understanding of and adherence to quality standards and Quality Management System procedures. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in an industrial environment. Willingness and ability to operate multiple machines when trained. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic math skills to support measurement, verification, and production tasks. Comfort working in a high-production, industrial setting. Strong communication skills to effectively report machine or quality issues. Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist in additional tasks to meet production goals. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a very industrial manufacturing environment that can become hot, particularly in the El Cajon area. The position follows a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a structured daytime work routine. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the safety-focused dress code, and the workspace emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and hazard awareness around CNC machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of El Cajon, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
