The ideal candidate takes pride in producing safe, clean, high-quality parts and understands that unfinished edges, burrs, sharp corners, and poor surface preparation can create safety and quality concerns for other team members. Experience operating laser-cutting equipment, press brakes, metal saws, grinders, and deburring tools is preferred. Experience with Trumpf equipment is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities Schedule is 5am to 1:30pm Monday-Friday Safely operate laser-cutting machines, plasma tables, hydraulic press brakes, metal saws, grinders, and other metalworking equipment. Ensure completed parts are safe to handle and properly prepared for fabrication, welding, assembly, or finishing. Inspect parts for sharp edges, damaged surfaces, incorrect cuts, or other quality concerns before releasing them to the next department. Read and follow blueprints, fabrication drawings, job travelers, work instructions, and production schedules. Use calipers, tape measures, gauges, squares, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Properly identify, organize, and stage completed parts to prevent damage, loss, or production delays. Perform required equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Report damaged tools, machine concerns, safety hazards, and quality issues immediately. Maintain a clean and organized work area by following COE housekeeping and 5S standards. Properly store tools, remove scrap material, and keep walkways and emergency equipment accessible. Follow all COE safety requirements, including PPE, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, material handling, and safe grinding practices. Use the correct grinding wheel, disc, or deburring tool for the material and application. Keep hands clear of cutting, forming, and moving machine components. Follow machine-specific operating procedures and never bypass guards or safety devices. Use proper lifting techniques and approved material-handling equipment. Keep sparks, hot material, and metal debris away from combustible materials. Stop work and notify leadership when an unsafe condition or equipment issue is identified.
