  • Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
  • Transport needed packaging materials to the production area.
  • Set-up and operation of packaging equipment with correct materials and products based on order specifications.
  • Meet daily production requirements.
  • Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals and date codes).
  • When changing product varieties, follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size. Set, adjust, and periodically check the product flow through a foreign materials machine. Check the magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
  • Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output, and machine downtime.
  • Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment.
  • Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
  • Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Packaging Supervisor or Lead. Skills, Intellectual Demands, and Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills, including touch screens
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory, and management personnel.
