Job Description

Cryogenics & Vacuum Assembly Technician responsible for building, assembling, leak-testing, and inspecting cryogenic and vacuum hardware and supporting precision manufacturing activities. Job Requirements Experience assembling mechanical components using basic hand tools. Ability to read and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and written work procedures. Strong soldering experience. Basic working knowledge of electronics. Experience performing precision mechanical or electromechanical assembly. Basic algebra-level math skills. Ability to work with metric measurements. Ability to safely handle production chemicals according to established procedures. Experience performing visual inspection for workmanship and drawing conformance. Ability to work with epoxies and adhesives used in technical assembly. Preferred Skills Experience with vacuum systems or cryogenic equipment. Knowledge of vacuum leak-testing methods. Experience building or testing cryostats, dewars, or related vacuum hardware. Experience using microscopes for inspection or assembly. Experience performing precision soldering on technical components. Experience with vacuum-compatible epoxies and assembly materials. Experience inspecting components against engineering drawings and quality standards. Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment and production tooling. Job Responsibilities Build and assemble cryostats, dewars, and specialized vacuum hardware. Evacuate vacuum systems and perform leak-testing activities. Prepare vacuum components for assembly. Perform precision soldering operations. Apply epoxies and adhesives to vacuum components according to defined procedures. Build auxiliary mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies. Inspect components and assemblies for cosmetic defects and workmanship issues. Verify completed assemblies against engineering drawings and quality requirements. Use microscopes and inspection equipment as required. Identify and document assembly or manufacturing problems. Support engineering investigations and corrective actions for build issues. Maintain assembly and test equipment. Monitor and track production supplies, components, and stock levels. Follow applicable chemical handling, manufacturing, and safety procedures.
