Full-Time | Onsite | AM and PM Shifts Available Position Overview A food production company is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, clean, and maintain high-speed production equipment. This position helps ensure products meet quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient production. Key Responsibilities Set up machinery with the appropriate blades and settings for each product and cutting specification. Feed products into equipment and monitor operation for consistent quality. Operate vertical form-fill-seal bagging equipment. Inspect finished cuts and make necessary adjustments according to established production guidelines. Safely remove, replace, handle, and store machine blades. Clean and sanitize equipment between product runs. Lubricate machinery and perform routine operator maintenance as required. Maintain adequate production supplies at the workstation. Follow equipment operating procedures, sanitation requirements, and safety protocols, including lockout/tagout. Follow attendance requirements and other workplace policies. Qualifications At least one year of experience operating a vertical form-fill-seal bagging machine is required. One to three years of general work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Previous machine operation experience in manufacturing or production is preferred. Experience in a high-speed industrial environment is preferred. Ability to operate manufacturing equipment and follow machine settings and operating instructions. Basic math and reading comprehension skills. Ability to understand English-language work instructions and safety procedures. Knowledge of industrial equipment and technology is a plus. High school diploma or GED preferred. Work Environment Onsite work in a food production and manufacturing facility. Regular operation of high-speed machinery and handling of sharp blades. Routine exposure to cleaning and sanitation chemicals, including chlorine. Exposure to odors and fumes from fresh produce. Overtime required based on production needs. Compliance with all safety and sanitation procedures is required. Physical Requirements Frequently lift and carry items weighing 5-50 pounds. Sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the shift. Use hands for firm grasping, equipment handling, and tasks requiring fine motor control. Use foot controls to operate powered equipment. Kneel, squat, and reach above shoulder level as needed. Perform repetitive hand movements and occasionally use knives, peelers, or similar cutting tools.
