2nd Shift Machine Operators

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking skilled and dedicated 2nd Shift Thermoforming Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating various industrial machinery, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. As a 2nd Shift Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining themoforming production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to contribute to a dynamic production environment with a focus on precision and craftsmanship. Basic Functions Loads and tends machine that molds thermoplastic sheets into plastic products. Typical Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following):
  • Positions thermoplastic sheet on top of sheet clamping frame.
  • Ensures that thermoplastic sheet and mold are clean and free of debris that may cause foreign material to imbed in part(s).
  • Ensures proper sheet orientation and positioning on the sheet clamping frame prior to closing.
  • Close clamps, and index plastic sheet into oven.
  • Heat sheet to specified temperature and draw sheet onto mold form.
  • Cool product while formed onto mold with air.
  • Demold part, and continue cooling part post molding.
  • May also trim excessive molding material from products, using a bandsaw.
  • Ensures proper dimension and quality of parts.
  • Works with all employees to generate ideas and implement process improvements.
  • Assists in product and process troubleshooting.
  • Continuously strive for safety improvements.
  • Assists in the revision of standard operational and working practices.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Working Knowledge of :
Proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and business correspondence.
Demonstrated Ability to:
Learn the organization, procedures, and operating details of Plastics Unlimited. Establish and maintain effective working relations with the Plastics Unlimited staff, outside agencies, and the general public. Communicate information clearly and concisely. Understand and carry out oral and written communications. Process production paperwork in accordance with specific procedures Effectively organize assigned tasks and work within deadlines. Use microcomputers for information retrieval.
Education and Experience:
Usually requires 3/6 months of relevant experience. High School education. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Personal safety equipment as required. Requires standing for long periods of time. May require long periods of overtime to ensure that we are meeting customer deadlines. Performance of duties requires lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Work environment requires some exposure to hot temperatures, and high noise levels.
Pay:
$17.00 per hour
