Position Summary We are seeking experienced Turning Set-Up Technicians to support 2nd and 3rd shift production at our West Plant. This position is responsible for the set-up and start-up of production jobs to meet production schedules and customer commitments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and changing over shaft, CNC turning, induction heat-treat, or related equipment, along with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes and make adjustments to maintain production, quality, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and start production jobs according to production schedules and customer requirements. Perform changeovers and set-ups on shaft, CNC turning, induction heat-treat, or related equipment. Maintain process and cycle integrity under the direction of the Production Supervisor. Perform set-ups, sample runs, inspections, and other production-related duties necessary to maintain production schedules. Work with support departments to ensure tools, machines, and processes are optimized. Recommend and implement improvements to production cycles, processes, and procedures to maintain schedules and produce quality parts. Maintain required documentation and paperwork supporting production cycles and procedures. Work directly with Process Technicians to identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures. Work with Machine Operators to improve current processes and procedures. Assist with training employees as needed. Read machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used to inspect parts. Follow all safety policies and procedures and report unsafe working conditions. Operate production equipment or perform other production-related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience operating CNC equipment. Previous experience with machine set-up and changeovers. Familiarity with metric measurements, blueprint reading, micrometers, and calipers. Experience setting up gauging and programmable automation is helpful. Prior technical training is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to learn and work with various software and production systems. High school diploma or equivalent. Technical & Behavioral Skills Strong understanding of CNC machine operation, set-up, troubleshooting, and adjustment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics. Strong attention to detail when setting up, inspecting, and adjusting equipment. Ability to diagnose problems and make appropriate adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain quality. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet production schedules. Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operators, technicians, supervisors, and support departments. Ability to remain focused and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
