$22 per hour, depending on experience Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday About NexGen Steel NexGen Steel is a next-generation manufacturer of cold-formed steel framing systems for residential and commercial buildings. Using advanced roll-forming and prefabrication technology, we deliver precision-engineered wall panels, floor joists, and trusses designed to outperform traditional lumber construction. Position Overview The Machine Operator is responsible for running a computer-driven CNC stud and truss roll-former used in the production of prefabricated steel framing components. This position requires strong attention to detail, computer literacy, and a mechanical mindset. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction or manufacturing and be comfortable operating precision equipment in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor a CNC roll-forming machine that produces steel studs, tracks, and truss components. Input, review, and adjust machine settings and production files using computer controls. Verify part measurements and quality to ensure compliance with design specifications. Load and unload coil steel, monitor machine performance, and perform basic maintenance. Troubleshoot and correct production errors or equipment issues as they arise. Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all company safety policies. Collaborate with the production team to meet daily output goals. Qualifications Construction, manufacturing, or mechanical background required . Basic to intermediate computer knowledge required (familiarity with CNC interfaces preferred). Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work well as part of a team.
