Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Band Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating band saw machines to accurately cut and shape metal and other materials according to technical specifications. Your expertise will ensure precision in fabrication processes, uphold safety standards, and contribute to the efficient production of high-quality components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and develop your skills in machining and metal fabrication. Duties Set up and operate band saw machines, ensuring proper alignment, blade tension, and safety measures are in place before starting each task Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine cutting dimensions and specifications Measure materials using precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy and quality of cuts Adjust machine settings and tooling based on material type and project requirements for optimal performance Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on band saw equipment to prevent downtime Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow, ensuring timely completion of fabrication orders Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to manufacturing safety standards Experience Proven experience operating band saws or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately Familiarity with CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, plasma cutting, press brake machines, CNC lathes, milling machines, welding, forming machines, stamping presses, electrical discharge machining (EDM), sheet metal fabrication, and related tools is a plus Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools for quality control Basic understanding of shop math and measurement techniques necessary for precise machining operations Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and experience adhering to safety protocols during machine operation Ability to perform machine setup, tooling adjustments, and quality inspections efficiently Mechanical aptitude combined with hands-on experience working with hand tools and fabrication equipment Join our team as a Band Saw Operator if you're passionate about precision machining, eager to develop your technical skills in a dynamic environment, and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards.
