Job Overview Picnics by Peace is a luxury event styling and design company serving DC, Maryland, and Virginia, with clients including the Baltimore Orioles, Georgetown University, EY, and Pinterest. We create immersive, full-room transformations for weddings, celebrations, and corporate events, and we're growing our setup team. In this hands-on role, you'll help build beautiful rooms from the ground up: placing decor, setting florals, styling tables, and bringing a designer's vision to life with care and precision. No two events look alike, and you'll see every one go from empty room to jaw-dropping reveal. What you'll do Set up and style luxury events: decor placement, florals, tablescapes, draping, backdrops, and rentals Follow design plans and reference photos precisely, every candle, vase, and fold has a place Support installs and structural production on site (backdrops, custom builds, signage) Prep event materials: steaming linens, cleaning vessels, staging items for placement Assist with breakdown and load-out when scheduled Work as part of a small crew under a lead, keeping pace with the event timeline You're a fit if you Have event experience: setup, styling, production, or on-site event work Are reliable and readily available, weekends especially Take real pride in detail, you notice when something is half an inch off Can lift up to 40 lbs and stay on your feet for a full setup Communicate well with your team and take direction gracefully

Several of our current leads started exactly here. Pay and details $20/hour, hours tracked per event and paid on our regular payroll schedule. Scheduled per event, with regular weekend work in season and room for more hours across setup and breakdown shifts.
