Job Description

Company Overview Mammoth Distilling is one of Michigan's most prominent craft distilleries, known for producing high-quality spirits and thoughtful, creative whiskey blends. With six tasting rooms across the state and a full grain-to-glass production model, we're building a growing legacy rooted in place and purpose. Our team is lean, collaborative, strategic, and serious about the work—but never too serious to enjoy the process. Summary We're looking for a Rickhouse Supervisor to take ownership of day-to-day operations across our barrel-aging facility, bulk spirits fulfillment, and bottling line. You'll be responsible for managing workflows, internal supply chain logistics, and ensuring everything runs smoothly from barrel in to bottle out. As a team player, the role offers opportunities to experience other areas of production as well, from fermentation to distilling. The right candidate is comfortable with responsibility, is self-motivated, collaborative, and brings a steady, problem-solving mindset to the job. Responsibilities Overseeing and maintaining bottled inventory for tasting rooms and distribution Bottling, labeling, and packaging product based on demands and scheduling Oversee packaging inventory on hand and responsibility for monitoring and communicating inventory levels to colleagues responsible for ordering Overseeing, leading, training bottling/packaging staff Cleaning and maintaining bottling/packaging equipment Coordinating with tasting rooms to make sure they get needed bottled inventory Coordinating and making deliveries to tasting rooms Overseeing shipments of product/samples to clients and distribution centers Learning and helping with distillation mashing and fermentation Assisting head distiller with barrel management in the rickhouse Performing regular quality control checks on outgoing products Maintaining and managing packaging materials and hard good inventories Supporting outbound and inbound logistics (creating bills of lading, shipping documents, inventory check outs etc.) Able to complete required work related paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion Requirements Mechanical experience and aptitude required Prior packaging, bottling, and or distillery/winery/brewery experience preferred but not required Ability to follow SOP's (standard operating procedure) in each phase of packaging bottling, shipping/receiving, and rickhouse operations Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck and pallet jack required; forklift certification preferred Excellent communication, time management, problem solving and organizational skills Natural leadership required with the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision Must be sociable, willing and comfortable to represent the distillery in public Ability to work as part of a team Working conditions/physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs above knee height Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl Ability to climb, twist, pull, stoop, lift and bend repetitively Willingness to work in wet, hot, and cold conditions safely with potentially hazardous chemicals Willing to work in a consistently loud environment Ability to operate a forklift Willingness to help out with other tasks as needed Wear proper PPE when appropriate If you are passionate about spirits and have the skills to lead a dynamic team, we invite you to apply today and help us shape the future of Mammoth Distilling!
