Products are available in both standard and custom/specialty designs to meet a wide variety of customer requirements. Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Nut Former Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain nut forming machinery, ensuring precision and quality in every part produced. Your expertise will contribute directly to our production efficiency and product excellence, supporting our mission to provide top-tier fasteners for various industries.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate nut forming (cold heading) machines. Review work orders and specifications to determine proper tooling and machine settings. Install and adjust dies, punches, and tooling as required. Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent product quality and production output. Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and other measuring instruments. Make machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and perform routine machine maintenance. Maintain production records and documentation. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE. Communicate equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or material shortages to supervisor. Other duties as assigned. Maintain clean work environment. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities) Required competencies: Self-motivated team player with good communication and interpersonal skills who is willing to learn. Mechanical background or critical thinking/problem solving skills. Experience with Precision measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Must have completed training on at least one machine in the assigned department. Can setup and operate 1 machine or operate multiple machines simultaneously with little supervision. Complete orientation training.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Previous work experience in a manufacturing/production environment or similar mechanical environment. Experience in a cold forming or progressive stamping production process. Experience in an
ISO 9001
work environment and with company operating procedures. Ability to cross train in other departments. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls and reach above shoulders. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
