They must have a strong understanding of the machines they work with. In-depth training may be required in order to prepare a Machine Operator for their daily duties. Position Responsibilities At the beginning of the shift, operators must mic wire to make sure the diameter is correct. 2 operator must check the cable length to make sure it is correct. Operators must completely fill out daily record: check box total count, total number of bundles, scrap count, and scrap weight. The operators are responsible for what is produced on their isle. Operators need to make sure roustabouts correctly set up bundles and make sure the shipping container is properly set up and clean. Operators need to clean their machine daily and thoroughly (dye box, over and under, dust build up areas). During idle time, operators are expected to perform light maintenance and cleaning on or around their machines. When able, operators need to help roust their own bundles. When required, operators will have to pull wire from the back of the warehouse. When finished with the orders, write on the order sheet: Machine number, who rousted the bundles, number of bundles done and the spool tag number. Sign order sheet when finished Operators need to distinguish the difference in SLBS and QS wire and black wire. Know what bag to put SLBT and QS wire and Black Wire. Know which bag to put on SLBT and QS. Must be able to follow the instructions/directions given by the floor supervisor. Use of all correct tools and proper routine maintenance required on machines. Must be able to follow all safety protocols and regulations regarding production and machine operation Stay in your designated area at all times. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED. Combination of additional education and experience. Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics. Attention to detail. Ability to work and communicate well with others. Proficiency with hand tools. Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Accent is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
