REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate with other employees effectively to articulate specifics about tools, components and repairs
- Be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
- Be able to sit, stand for extended periods, bend and reach
- Be able to work as a team member with other employees and maintain positive attitude
SPECIAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand machines and tools
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, sketches and specifications
- Ability to adjust and use testing machines of various types
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools to accomplish tasks
- Ability to prioritize and organize schedule for maximum benefit
- Will need to demonstrate mechanical aptitude with a test
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and understand shop orders, engineering drawings and sketches
- Organize and optimize work area for maximum productivity
- Gather and organize required parts to be used in assemblies
- Operate power tools, assorted hand tools and machinery to execute assembly tasks
- Identify opportunities for improvement in assembly processes and collaborate with team to review potential and document according to quality requirements
- Repair and test a variety of products submitted
- Inspect and certify accuracy of products
- Operate and test finished products to ensure quality
- ERP reporting as appropriate
- Package finished products into crates or boxes
- Work with appropriate computer systems as needed
- Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Forklift certification for material movements
- Other duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
:
- High School degree or GED
- Mechanical aptitude or assembly experience which will need to be demonstrated
