Responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through the operation of the various machines used in the production and packaging of fluid milk products, including fillers, debagging tables and other machines as needed. The schedule for this position is as follows: 2:00pm to 2:00am,Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Schedule flexibility is highly preferred. Will you be able to accommodate this schedule?
Minimum Required Qualifications:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
High school graduate or equivalent required
1+ years of equivalent experience, specifically food industry and manufacturing facility, preferred
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for extended hours
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, including overhead
Must be able to work in an environment that includes exposure to noise, dust, moisture and varying temperatures
Some exposure to cleaning chemicals
Strong analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
Must have well developed organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects
Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others
Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision
Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies
Essential Job Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment within dairy production environment
Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks
Monitor weights, seals, caps and general packaging of product
Make adjustments to filler timing as needed
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties
Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced
Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner
Complete cleaning checklist once line has completed run
Ensure Stackers are cleared between all label, package and product changes
Communicate clearly to cold storage
Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed
Carefully remove bottles from bags on the debagging table, ensuring no damage to the bottles
Inspect bottles for defects and report any issues to the supervisor
Perform label changeovers accurately and efficiently to meet production requirements
Ensure that all labels are correctly applied and aligned according to specifications
Verify that date codes on bottles are correct and legible
Report any discrepancies in date codes to the quality control team
Carry bags of bottles from storage trailers to the debagging area
Maintain an organized and tidy storage area, ensuring that materials are easily accessible
Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may alter the efficiency of production
Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information
Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)
Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area
Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc
Responsible for food safety, prerequisite programs and food quality related to designated area
Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Work overtime as assigned
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Comply with all company policies and procedures
