GED Full Job Description Purpose:
The Final Assembly Operator completes final assembly, wiring, testing, inspection, labeling, and packaging of electronic products by following manufacturing instructions and visual aids. The role checks work for quality and records production information.
Responsibilities:
Follow manufacturing process instructions (MPIs), shop packets, and posted visual aids. De-panel printed circuit boards (PCBs), inspect for damage or defects, and verify required parts are secure. Insert and connect wires and use required equipment to secure wire terminals properly. Complete final assembly, including placing assemblies into enclosures when required. Perform electrical testing and adjust test equipment within approved ranges. Perform first article inspection (FAI) on the initial unit before continuing production. Apply required labels and test or QC markings, and verify label information and quantities. Assemble, label, and package coated probes with literature as required. Complete required paperwork and record production in the company information system. Maintain a safe, clean work area and report quality or equipment concerns.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, electronics, or electrical testing preferred. Ability to read and follow English instructions, MPIs, diagrams, drawings, and part markings. Basic math, alphanumeric recognition, computer entry, and hand-tool skills. Strong attention to detail, fine-motor skills, and ability to stay focused during repetitive work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist, squat, carry, perform repetitive fine-motor work, and lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to distinguish small part and alphanumeric differences and hear instructions, alarms, and announcements.
