Job Description

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR
Do you enjoy CNC milling and want to learn other manufacturing processes? Most of this job involves setting up and running a CNC mill, reading drawings, checking parts, and keeping work moving in our small shop. You will also learn to support our CNC laser and robotic welder. Experience with those other machines or manual welding is a plus. What we are looking for
  • Hands-on CNC milling or machining experience, ideally with machine setup as well as operation.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings and written job instructions, or a clear foundation to learn this quickly.
  • Mechanical aptitude, dependable attendance, careful work, and a steady approach to quality and safety.
  • Willingness to learn different equipment and help with a varied workload in a small shop. What you will do
  • Prepare jobs by reviewing drawings and instructions, loading material, and getting tooling or fixtures ready.
  • Set up and run the CNC mill, including preparing tooling or fixtures and checking the first part. Learn to support our CNC laser and robotic welder as needed.
  • Check parts against job requirements, make appropriate setup adjustments, and flag problems promptly.
  • Record useful setup information and follow shop procedures so repeat jobs run consistently.
  • Help organize materials and the work area and support other shop tasks as needed.
  • Perform occasional manual welding if you have the skills and the job calls for it; this is not primarily a manual welding position.
Helpful but not required Experience with a CNC laser, robotic welder, manual welding, CAD/CAM, AutoCAD, Inventor, or setup documentation. Training is available on the equipment you have not used. Room to grow There will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility and focus on different areas of the business as the shop grows. Your path will depend on your strengths, interests, and the needs of the shop. 401
