Description Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Longitudinal Veneer Slicer Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining veneer slicing equipment to produce high-quality wood veneer products according to customer and production specifications. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate longitudinal veneer slicer machines.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
Inspect veneer sheets for thickness, grain consistency, and defects.
Load and position logs, flitches, or wood stock according to production requirements.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of equipment.
Troubleshoot machine issues and report major repairs to maintenance personnel.
Follow quality control procedures and document production data.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience operating veneer slicers, woodworking machinery, or industrial manufacturing equipment preferred.
Ability to read production specifications and measurements.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery.
