Job Description

Alderfer Lumber Company is a 25+ year old specialty lumber company in Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA. We have an excellent reputation for premiere dimensional lumber and live edge slabs that are sold all over the United States. We support the makers by supplying high end lumber for furniture makers, baseball bat manufacturers, chair artisans, professional guitars, cabinetry, and more. We're looking for a passionate person to join our team and help our growing business. We're looking for a motivated individual to help with: Potential duties to include but not be limited to:

Operate forklift to move lumber around yard
Lumber Grading
Stack and sticker lumber
Load and unload kiln
Operate slab mill
Stack, organize, and measure slabs
Operate planer, rip saw, bump saw, and slab flattener
Prepare packages for shipment
Split baseball bat blanks You should have:
Simple Math Skills
Mechanical abilities a plus
Experience with working with your hands
Ability to lift over 100 pounds
Be able to take on various roles within the organization depending on what needs accomplished
Working well on a team of people working towards a common goal
Be punctual and a hard worker
A valid driver's license
An interest in beautiful Pennsylvania hardwood
Nice to have previous milling, slabbing, or other wood experience
