Job Overview The Pipe Operator is responsible for efficiently processing and operating extrusion equipment in accordance with production orders and specifications. This role involves setting, monitoring, and maintaining machine operation standards to ensure the production of high-quality output. Extrusion Pipe Operator Essential Responsibilities 1. Process and operate extrusion equipment. 2. Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using rules, templates, or other measuring instruments. 3. Position, adjust, and secure stock material or workpieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists. 4. Read blueprints or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences. 5. Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools. 6. Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary. 7. Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs. 8. Make minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and notify supervisors when major service is required. Additional Responsibilities Operate forklift as needed Train other operators as needed Perform other duties as assigned Willing to rotate shifts every month Education High School Diploma or GED Extrusion Pipe Operator Experience Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of relevant software applications Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus Previous experience operating a forklift a plus! Skills Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proactive problem solver Safety oriented Excels in a fast-paced environment
