Non-climate-controlled (can get very hot; not air-conditioned) Job Overview The Fabrication Associate supports daily pipe fabrication operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role involves operating fabrication equipment, handling materials, performing quality inspections, and assisting with cutting, threading, beveling, and preparing pipe products for shipment. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, comfortable working in hot industrial environments, and capable of safely operating machinery while maintaining production, quality, and safety standards. Must‑Haves 6-8 months of recent machinery experience , including: Band saws Automatic welding machines 6-8 months of mechanical or industrial experience Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure Experience using gauges for quality inspections Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Material Handling Move loose or bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard Assemble pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) Maintain organized work areas and work supplies Support staging and shipment preparation activities Machine Operation Set up and maintain fabrication equipment Measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths accurately Cut pipe using band saws or torches Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines Operate powered industrial equipment according to OSHA and company procedures Quality & Inspection Perform quality checks using gauges and measurement tools Verify dimensions and fabrication accuracy Inspect materials and finished products for compliance with specifications Support continuous quality improvement efforts Safety & Maintenance Follow all safety procedures for fabrication, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe Inspect and assist with maintenance of forklift equipment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Qualifications Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong math skills for measurements and product calculations Knowledge of safe work practices in industrial and pipe yard environments Experience with machinery used for cutting and threading pipe (training provided) Results-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills for automated machinery and production systems Preferred Experience Experience with: Pipe threaders Roll groove machines Plasma cutting equipment Automatic welding machines Pneumatic banders Fire sprinkler pipe fabrication Ability to handle and sort pipe ranging from ½" to 10" in diameter.
