Full-time | Day Shift | In-Person Lynchburg Machining, LLC is a precision manufacturing company specializing in quick-turnaround, low-volume work. We produce high-quality components for demanding industries, including Aerospace, Nuclear, and Defense. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Waterjet Operator to join our growing team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating waterjet equipment, preparing materials, monitoring cutting operations, and ensuring finished that completed parts meet job requirements. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate waterjet cutting equipment Review blueprints, drawings, CAD files, and work instructions Load and position raw materials safely and accurately Select or verify the correct programs, materials, tooling, and cutting parameters Monitor cutting operations and make adjustments when necessary Remove, identify, organize, and inspect completed parts Use calipers, tape measures, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions Maintain material traceability and keep parts separated by job Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and abrasive-system checks Monitor consumable components and report replacement needs Assist with material handling, inventory, and general shop duties Complete required job and production documentation accurately Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow company quality procedures and safety requirements Qualifications Previous waterjet, CNC, machining, fabrication, or industrial equipment experience is preferred Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings Experience using basic measuring instruments Basic computer skills and the ability to learn waterjet programming software Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dependable attendance and a positive, self-motivated attitude Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, quick-turn environment Willingness to learn from experienced team members Ability to work overtime when required Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday Ability to safely handle large or heavy materials using appropriate lifting equipment Benefits Health insurance 401(k) plan Paid vacation Employee bonus program Due to applicable customer and government contract requirements, candidates must qualify as a U.S. person , which generally includes U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents.
