Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grind Operator to join our manufacturing team.

Basic Functions :

1. Set up, adjust, repair operate and maintain a multiple workstation of strip grinders to produce maximum number of blades of acceptable quality. 2. Remove blades and aside or pack as required. Load coils and thread through machine, rewind and weld as required. 3. Dress, change and adjust wheels as required using care not to damage parts or product. 4. Check quality of product periodically, making adjustments when necessary, including the replacing and adjusting of replaceable tools or expendable parts. 5. Sort, remove or identify defective blades. 6. Maintain proper fluid levels in all hydraulic and washing systems. 7. Maintain nominal setting of facet width and sharpness specification using equipment provided. 8. As required, perform material handling such as obtaining and asiding blade boards, bayonets, etc. 9. Maintain necessary records and keep work area clean. 10. Direct helpers in work assignments. 11. Provide assistance and temporary relief for other operator/adjusters. 12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned as a result of Continuous Improvement or to facilitate product.

Technicians who have been trained for a process or task which requires current training by procedure, guideline, or policy are required to advise supervisor of upcoming training needs to remain current. (Powered Industrial Truck Licenses are a good example).

Qualifications:

Applicants must provide documentation of out-of-plant qualifications and related experience.

Experience Requirements:

Must have minimum of six months experience as machine operator/adjuster.

Education and Licensing Requirements:

High School diploma or GED is required. Physical Working Conditions (Physical Capacity): Should be able to withstand normal standing activities, lifting up to 25 pounds routinely and up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis. Environmental conditions are generally good. Regular exposure / contact with lubricating oil. Should have nominally good eyesight, eye-to-hand coordination, depth perception and color vision. The duties described above are representative of the types of tasks routinely required of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. Pay:

$30.31 - $33.56 per hour
