Job Description

Cargill is hiring a Machine Operator Leader to oversee daily equipment operation in our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead a small crew, set up and operate production machinery, and monitor line performance to meet safety, quality, and volume targets. You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, coordinate changeovers, document production data, and uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards. As a key partner in a culture of integrity and continuous improvement, you will coach team members, support training, and help drive initiatives that enhance reliability and efficiency across the line. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily activities of machine operators on assigned line or area Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery to meet safety, quality, and output targets Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and coordinate maintenance support when needed Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements Complete production logs, downtime reports, and quality checks accurately and on time Train and coach new and existing operators on standard operating procedures and safety practices Support continuous improvement, 5 S, and root-cause problem-solving initiatives Communicate shift performance, issues, and handoff information to supervisors and other teams Required Skills Machine operation Mechanical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance Production scheduling Quality control Safety compliance Lockout/Tagout procedures Basic PLC/HMI use Data entry & reporting Team leadership
