POSITION SUMMARY
The Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of machine bindery equipment within post-press operations. Equipment includes Bobst, Signature, and Moll folder/gluer systems. This position ensures jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality, productivity, and customer specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform make-ready, setup, adjustments, and operation of fold and glue equipment to meet production schedules and established safety and productivity standards. Review job tickets and work instructions to determine required quantities, paper stock specifications, folding and gluing requirements, and any special instructions. Monitor equipment and finished product throughout production to ensure quality standards and customer specifications are consistently met. Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain product quality, accuracy, and consistent production rates. Inspect finished products for quality and identify and correct issues as they arise. Troubleshoot equipment and production issues and make appropriate adjustments to minimize downtime and waste. Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance of equipment as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and production standards. Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, and production needs to supervisors or appropriate personnel.
REQUIREMENTS
Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to learn new tasks and processes quickly while maintaining high production and quality standards. Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills. Previous machine operation experience, including equipment setup, troubleshooting, adjustments, and quality control. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively in a team environment. Ability to read and follow written job tickets, work instructions, and verbal directions. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality products. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities. Willingness and ability to cross-train on additional equipment and processes. Previous experience operating one or more of the following is preferred: Signature/Moll folder gluers, MBO/Stahl folders, Polar cutters
SCHEDULE
Full-time, Hourly, First and Second shift available 1st
Shift:
Monday - Friday 6 am-2 pm or 2nd
Shift:
Monday - Thursday 2 pm-12am
STARTING WAGE
This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
