As the Vertical Lathe Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes and upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate for this role possesses a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and prior experience operating CNC turning equipment within a precision manufacturing setting. Primary Duties Safely and efficiently operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs). Maintain quality control standards during the machining process. Ensure all machined parts meet customer specifications by monitoring machining operations. Utilize precision measuring tools to inspect and measure in-process and finished parts. Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections. Operate multiple CNC machines concurrently when required. Promptly report equipment malfunctions or production issues to the direct supervisor. Adhere to standard operating procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Effectively communicate with team members across all shifts. Maintain accurate production records and documentation as needed. Perform basic machine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and coolant. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the VP of Operations immediately. Complete additional tasks assigned by management. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of CNC Operator experience , with preference given to those with experience operating CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs). Equivalent experience or demonstrated skills will be considered. High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in manufacturing or aerospace machining is preferred. Ability to independently operate CNC turning equipment while maintaining quality standards. Essential Skills Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, travelers, and technical documentation. Experience using precision measuring tools, such as calipers and other inspection instruments. Familiarity with CNC tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, and machine accessories. Knowledge of basic machine maintenance procedures. Strong mathematical abilities, including geometry and algebra. Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining quality standards. Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Resourceful, adaptable, and reliable work ethic.
