Full Job Description Job Title:
Injection Molding Process Technician / Processor Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Injection Molding Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be a key player responsible for oversee daily set up, starting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing our injection molding machines to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate most have deep technical knowledge of plastic materials, mold setups, and robust processing parameters. Machine Setup & Startup:
Safely install, remove, and change molds in injection molding equipment. Establish and maintain robust, repeatable processes according to documentation.
Process Optimization:
Monitor machine performance and adjust parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time to maximize efficiency while ensuring part quality.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve molding defects (e.g., flash, short shots, warp, sink, burning, splay) and equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
Material Handling:
Verify and manage correct resin, colorants, and additive blends for specific production runs.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct routine in-process inspections using calipers and gauges to verify that finished parts meet strict technical specifications.
Documentation:
Accurately record, verify, and update process sheets, downtime, scrap logs, and setup parameters.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform basic preventive maintenance on molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment. Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out protocols Qualifications
Experience:
2-5+ years of hands-on experience and leadership in injection molding processing or plastics manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of polymer/resin behavior, processing windows, and mold design. Familiarity with scientific molding principles is highly preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in equipment troubleshooting, mechanical systems, and utilizing basic measuring tools.
Education:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, standing for long durations, and work comfortably in a fast-paced industrial environment. What We Offer Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
