Machine Operator:

Saw/Slitter OperatorJob Summary

  • The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, loading, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining product quality.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to standard operating procedures.

Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Report equipment malfunctions and assist maintenance personnel with repairs as needed. Maintain accurate production records, including output and quality data. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines. Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements. Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve daily production targets. Flexibly rotate between different machine stations and equipment types to support daily manufacturing goals. Participate in training, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, security, and on-time delivery. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience operating production equipment is preferred. Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and safety documents. Basic math and measurement skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Technical experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience operating a large saw, slitter, or other similar machine. Communicate clearly and fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Able to work in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Work Environment
  • Production facility.

May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on production demands. Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and industrial materials while following established safety procedures.
