Company Overview DW Precision is an embedded contractor to StarPlus Energy LLC, a Samsung SDI-Stellantis joint venture, in Kokomo, Indiana. We specialize in the maintenance, cleaning, and precision regrinding of press notching molds used in lithium-ion battery cell production — supporting both EV (electric vehicle) cells and ESS (Energy Storage System) cells. Since establishing our Kokomo operation in October 2024, we have grown alongside the plant. With the ESS production line ramping up through 2026 and additional volume expected after SOP, we are expanding our team. All work is performed inside the StarPlus Energy plant. This is a hands-on opportunity to build a skilled trade — mold assembly, precision grinding of tungsten carbide and tool steel, and operation of 2D/3D measuring equipment for inspection. Position Summary We are hiring Mold Technicians. No prior mold or machining experience is required. We provide full on-the-job training. During your 90-day probation period, you will learn mold handling, disassembly and cleaning, inspection, and precision grinding. Technicians who demonstrate the right aptitude and attitude advance to Mold Specialist and, over time, to Mold Engineer. You will work on molds supporting both EV and ESS cell production — two of the fastest-growing segments in U.S. manufacturing. This is a stable, long-term career path, not a short-term contract role.

Target start date:

early September 2026. Responsibilities Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble press notching molds Perform regrinding of punches, dies, and related components as required Inspect mold components using 2D/3D measuring machines and precision gauges Work with StarPlus Energy production teams to identify and resolve punching defects or mold-related issues Maintain accurate mold history records and documentation Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with plant safety standards Perform other related duties as assigned Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of verifiable full-time work experience (any industry) Legally authorized to work in the United States Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (fuel card provided) Demonstrated record of reliable attendance in previous employment Ability to consistently work overtime and occasional weekends as production requires Must meet all StarPlus Energy site access and contractor badging requirements Strong willingness to learn and a team-first attitude Preferred Qualifications Interest or background in mechanics, machining, or engineering Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment Korean/English bilingual — helpful for daily communication with our engineering team and Korea-based technical support Physical Requirements Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Lift up to 50 pounds Reach overhead, below the knees, and away from the body Maneuver into tight spaces Work around potential exposure to dust, oil, and cleaning chemicals Wear required PPE at all times Schedule Full-time, day shift only: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch, 12:00-1:00 PM). Overtime and occasional weekend work required based on production demand. No night shift.
