We are seeking a dedicated Mixer Operator, one of the key positions in the bakery to produce safe, consistent, and high-quality products that our customers can count on. This position is responsible for accurately preparing and mixing each batch according to product specifications and lot sheets while maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment. The Mixer is expected to follow all Boston Baking, Inc. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, and the Allergen Control Plan. Equally important, this team member is expected to contribute to our people-centric culture by demonstrating our Mission and Values through the way they work, communicate, support their teammates, and care for our customers and products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review the production lot sheet and product specifications before beginning each batch to ensure proper ingredients, equipment, and setup. Accurately scale and prepare all ingredients according to production requirements. Verify ingredient quantities and record ingredient lot numbers accurately. Take and accurately record ingredient and product temperatures as required. Operate industrial mixing equipment according to approved procedures. Follow specified mixing times, speeds, and product requirements. Monitor dough and batter for proper temperature, consistency, and quality. Complete all required production and lot sheet documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout the production process. Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or other production issues to the Team Leader or appropriate department. Take ownership of quality, safety, accuracy, and the work being performed. Required Skills & Abilities Basic English language skills sufficient to understand and follow production, safety, and food-safety requirements. Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure and scale ingredients. Ability to read and complete production documentation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and ethical conduct. Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one year of experience in a bakery or food industry
Physical Requirements:
The work environment is an active food manufacturing facility where temperatures may vary significantly, including cold conditions in freezers and warm conditions near ovens. This position requires extended periods of standing and walking and may include bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and repetitive movements. The Mixer must be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing 75 pounds or more . Workdays may be approximately 9-10 hours, with occasional longer shifts, nights, weekends, or additional hours based on production needs. Why Boston Baking, Inc.?
