Injection Molding Set Up Technician

Job Description

Injection Molding Set-Up Technician We're looking for a hands-on Set-Up Technician with strong injection molding experience who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up, starting, and troubleshooting injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality production output. You'll play a key role in keeping equipment running efficiently, resolving process issues quickly, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives on the floor. What You'll Do Set up and install injection molds according to established specifications and production requirements Start, stop, and restart injection molding presses ensuring proper process parameters are met Troubleshoot and correct molding and secondary process issues to maintain product quality and reduce downtime Work with auxiliary equipment including hot stampers, sonic welders, and related production tooling Perform basic process adjustments to stabilize cycle times, part quality, and machine performance Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and on time Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at the completion of each job changeover Participate in continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles Submit improvement suggestions related to set-up efficiency, process optimization, and equipment performance Equipment & Technical Environment You will work with and be expected to safely operate: Injection molding machines Forklifts and material handling equipment Overhead cranes Tool carts and mold handling equipment Hot stamping and sonic welding equipment Measurement tools and meters (for process verification and troubleshooting) Production monitoring systems (preferred experience) Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally Standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching throughout shift Occasional work at varying heights Must be able to safely operate in an industrial manufacturing environment PPE required: safety glasses (required), hearing protection (as needed), steel-toe footwear recommended What You Bring Hands-on experience in plastic injection molding environments (setup, processing, or troubleshooting) Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment/process issues Ability to learn and apply injection molding methods, processes, and procedures Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles (or willingness to learn) Forklift operation experience (certification preferred or ability to obtain) Basic computer literacy; experience with production monitoring software is a plus Strong communication skills (verbal and written in English) Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Why This Role Matters This is a critical production role where your ability to set up, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding processes directly impacts product quality, uptime, and overall manufacturing efficiency. You'll be on the front line of production performance and continuous improvement. Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
