JOB SUMMARY
The Mold Set-Up Technician sets up and/or tends to molds for press machines based on job traveler and production needs. Performs sample runs before releasing to the press operator. Inspects and cleans mold before and after production runs. Pulls material needed for each job.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs all operations and functions for Press tooling and supporting equipment. Reads job travelers to determine molding specifications and tooling instructions. Pulls required mold(s) from storage. Inspects mold(s) for defects and cleanliness. Mounts, installs, aligns mold and/or other work pieces on to press manually or by using hoist. Secures molds and/or other work pieces using basic hand and/or power tools. Install new molds and other work pieces throughout the day as needed per production schedule. Conducts tests, inspects mold to insure mold is secure, and verifies part quality. Drives continual improvement of processes and product quality. Works closely with Engineering and Maintenance to improve tooling and equipment uptime. Trains others as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Ability to understand and communicate details logically and accurately in English Ability to complete counting and basic mathematical calculations Ability to record information in writing and to enter data accurately into the computer
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally:
reach above shoulder with both hands, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Frequently:
lift upward with both arms outstretched, count and calculate, communicate details.
Constantly:
stand; reach outward with both hands, handle/finger, wrist and elbow flexion, rotation and articulation.
