What You Will Do Operate pellet mill machinery and manage the flow of raw materials through production. Monitor equipment and adjust settings to meet production goals and maintain product quality. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs. Complete daily shift reports and maintain accurate production records. Promptly report equipment problems and production concerns to your supervisor. Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow operating procedures, safety requirements, and company policies. Communicate with team members and supervisors about production goals, equipment conditions, and issues. Participate in improvements that support efficiency and reduce downtime. What You Bring High school diploma or GED. Previous production or manufacturing experience; pellet mill or similar experience is preferred. Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety. Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced production environment. Southport Lumber is seeking a reliable Pellet Mill Operator to help produce high-quality wood pellets. In this role, you will operate and monitor production equipment, perform routine maintenance, and work with your team to keep the pellet mill running safely and efficiently. This position reports to the Pellet and Chip Mill Manager.
