Ribbon Machine Operator Reports To:

Department Supervisor Job Summary The Ribbon Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining ribbon production machinery to manufacture high-quality textile ribbons. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Set up ribbon weaving, knitting, or cutting machines according to production specifications Operate machines to produce ribbons of various widths, colors, and materials Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality Inspect ribbons for defects such as uneven edges, color inconsistencies, or pattern errors Measure and verify ribbon dimensions to ensure compliance with specifications Replace spools, threads, and materials as needed during production Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major problems to maintenance Maintain accurate production records and logs Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous experience in textile manufacturing or machine operation is a plus Ability to read and understand work orders and production specifications Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and quality control Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights Skills & Competencies Machine operation and monitoring Quality inspection and control Time management and productivity focus Problem-solving ability Teamwork and communication Work Environment Manufacturing/production floor setting Exposure to noise, fibers, and moving machinery Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Physical Requirements Prolonged standing and walking Frequent use of hands for threading and adjustments Ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs .
