High School Diploma or equivalent Job Summary The Mixer Operator is an Equipment Owner responsible for safely producing high-quality products by executing standardized work, maintaining equipment conditions, and driving continuous improvement through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) . This role owns the mixing process end-to-end, ensuring product quality, food safety, equipment reliability, and consistent production while supporting the Packaging team as the internal customer. Required Skills Ability to follow detailed instructions, recipes, and precise measurements Strong attention to detail and accuracy Basic math and problem-solving skills Ability to operate or learn industrial mixing equipment High School education or equivalent Desired Skills & Experience Previous experience in food manufacturing or a production environment Familiarity with SAP or production documentation systems Understanding of GMP, HACCP, BRC, allergen control, and food safety standards Experience with TPM or autonomous maintenance is a plus
Certification Requirement:
Supervisor Equipment Ownership At Gallatin, every associate is an Equipment Owner . The Mixer Operator is expected to: Own the performance and condition of the Mixer system Execute Autonomous Maintenance (AM) standards Use TPM tools, including CIL, Defect Handling, and Centerlines , on a daily basis Identify and eliminate production losses Support continuous improvement and equipment capability Help develop and train other associates toward Equipment Ownership Key Responsibilities1. Safety Ownership
  • Zero Loss Mindset Follow all safety standards, PPE requirements, and LOTO procedures for mixer and support equipment Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions, including issues involving guards, walkways, and traffic hazards Inspect nuts, bolts, gaskets, and guarding for proper condition and integrity Immediately escalate and document safety concerns 2. Quality Ownership
  • Right First Time Follow GMP, HACCP, BRC, allergen, and cross-contamination controls Perform and document quality checks, including temperature, batter consistency, and system verification Ensure all batches meet required specifications Identify and report foreign-material risks Support quality investigations when required 3. Production Ownership
  • Execute the Plan Read and execute daily production schedules and make adjustments as needed Prepare, scale, and verify ingredients before mixing Set mixer programs according to recipe requirements Introduce raw materials into the mixer in the correct order and quantities Perform changeovers, including cleaning and preparation between products Complete startup and shutdown activities Maintain production flow to support Packaging operations 4.
TPM & Equipment Ownership
  • AM Pillar Execute CIL (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate) tasks using TPM systems Identify, tag, and escalate equipment defects Support corrective actions and equipment improvements Maintain equipment basic conditions and established centerlines Support continuous improvement and loss-elimination initiatives 5. Sanitation & 6S
  • Workplace Ownership Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary mixing area in accordance with 6S standards Follow proper waste-handling procedures Store tools and equipment in designated locations Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness throughout the shift 6. Systems & Data Accuracy
  • Process Discipline Complete all required production documentation, including ingredient logs, pre-start checklists, and batch sheets Execute SAP transactions accurately and in real time Review documentation for completeness and accuracy before the end of the shift Maintain accurate production and quality records 7.
Teamwork & Communication Communicate proactively with Team Leaders, TRIO, and Packaging teams Coordinate production flow and escalate issues promptly Support the training and development of other associates Share equipment and process knowledge with team members Training & Certification
  • Step-Up ModelLevel 1 Mixer Operator Certification Training includes: Safety, GMP, and TPM awareness Mixer operation and setup Ingredient scaling and batching SAP data entry and production documentation CIL and defect-handling fundamentals Certification Levels Aware

Pay:
$23.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Application Question(s): How many years of experience do you have working as a Mixer Operator? Do you have previous experience working in a food manufacturing, production, or industrial environment? Are you comfortable following detailed recipes, work instructions, and precise measurements when preparing production batches? Do you have experience following food safety, GMP, HACCP, allergen-control, or sanitation procedures? Are you comfortable performing routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance activities such as Clean, Inspect, and Lubricate (CIL) tasks? Do you have experience completing production records, batch sheets, checklists, ingredient logs, or other manufacturing documentation? Have you used SAP or another computerized production/inventory documentation system? This position requires following established safety procedures, including PPE and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures where applicable. Are you willing and able to follow these requirements? Are you able to perform the essential functions of the Mixer Operator position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including following production procedures, monitoring equipment, handling production materials, completing required documentation, and maintaining a clean and organized work area?
