We are currently looking for a Specialist Electrical & Instrumentation/Sr Specialist Electrical & Instrumentation for our Eunice, LA location.
JOB PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic, electrical, and pneumatic equipment and control systems in assigned areas, likely to provide support in adjacent areas, along with project support. The role also supports compression facility operations, including operating compressors and auxiliary equipment, assisting with mechanical repairs, and maintaining pipeline valves and flow control systems. The position participates in an on-call rotation, supports other facilities as needed, and is responsible for recognizing and reporting abnormal or unsafe operating conditions, accident and near-miss reporting, and emergency response. The position maintains advanced monitoring devices such as gas and fire detection systems and vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow monitoring equipment. Responsibilities also include installing and maintaining end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, air/fuel controllers, and panel boards; interpreting P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and complex electrical drawings; and performing preventive and general maintenance on electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Additional duties include maintaining pumps, dehydration facilities, measurement and metering equipment, over-pressure protection systems, and providing training and technical support. Key responsibilities include handling natural gas related to reciprocating / turbine compression equipment, pipeline network in assigned areas; performing assigned tasks, supporting construction activities; conducting preventative maintenance and regulated compliance inspections along pipelines such at meter stations, on corrosion control systems. The role requires acquiring Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks and may occasionally involve assisting at other work locations. This position's primary area of responsibility will be the Texas Gas Eunice Compressor Station, 1661 coulee rd. Eunice la, and surrounding Texas Gas pipelines. The successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of the Eunice Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday, however this position is subject to occasional schedule adjustments as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Individual must have excellent communication skills, the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, strong ability for prioritizing, and scheduling multiple projects.
This individual should also have experience with Microsoft programs as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment. The ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Valid Driver's license, good driving record is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.
PREFERRRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
  • 4 (plus) years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience
  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and DOT 192 knowledge
  • Associate degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies

POSITION DESCRIPTION
This role is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of a natural gas compressor station and pipeline system to ensure safe, reliable product flow and full regulatory compliance. Duties include operating the compressor station on a rotating schedule, responding to callouts during assigned operating weeks, and participating in an area-wide on-call rotation for emergency or abnormal operating conditions.
