10+ years of mechanical commissioning, startup, operations, or maintenance experience supporting utility-scale power generation projects. Demonstrated experience leading commissioning activities for gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and mechanical balance of plant (BOP) systems. Experience with Siemens
SGT800, GE LM6000, MAN
Everllence reciprocating engines, or similar OEM equipment is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of system turnover, commissioning procedures, startup execution, functional testing, and performance testing.
Job Summary :
NAES is seeking an experienced Lead Commissioning Supervisor - Mechanical to support commissioning activities for a large-scale power generation project in Texas. This position provides technical leadership for all mechanical commissioning activities, ensuring plant systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives. The successful candidate will coordinate field execution, oversee mechanical commissioning engineers, and work closely with engineering, construction, operations, and OEM representatives throughout system turnover, startup, and commercial operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead mechanical commissioning activities from construction completion through startup, reliability testing, and commercial operation. Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, work packages, and testing strategies for major mechanical systems. Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, OEM representatives, operations personnel, and project leadership. Supervise mechanical commissioning engineers while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. Oversee commissioning of gas turbines, reciprocating engines, balance of plant systems, and associated auxiliary equipment. Lead system walkdowns, turnover verification, punch list resolution, and startup readiness activities. Support first-fire activities, equipment synchronization, load bank testing, reliability runs, and performance testing as applicable. Identify commissioning issues, develop corrective action plans, and provide routine progress updates to project leadership.
Job Requirements :
Strong understanding of mechanical commissioning principles and startup methodologies for utility-scale power generation facilities. Experience commissioning rotating equipment, auxiliary mechanical systems, and balance of plant systems. Ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, vendor manuals, and commissioning procedures. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience working with EPC contractors, OEM representatives, and multidisciplinary commissioning teams. Ability to work extended schedules during critical commissioning and startup activities. Education /
Experience :
10+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting commissioning, startup, construction, operations, or maintenance of utility-scale power generation facilities. Experience with Siemens, GE, MAN Everllence, or comparable OEM equipment is strongly preferred. Previous experience on simple-cycle, combined-cycle, reciprocating engine, or large industrial power generation projects is preferred.
