Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Water Distribution Operator and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable water services for the community. In this energetic role, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water distribution systems, including pumps, valves, and pipelines. Your expertise will help deliver clean water efficiently while adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations. Duties Operate and monitor water distribution equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). Perform routine inspections of pipelines, tanks, and related infrastructure to identify leaks, corrosion, or other issues requiring maintenance or repair. Conduct data collection and analysis to track system performance, water quality parameters, and operational efficiency. Repair and maintain mechanical components such as plumbing fixtures, pumps, valves, and other heavy equipment involved in water distribution. Assist with construction projects related to system upgrades or repairs, including heavy lifting and equipment operation. Respond promptly to system alarms or emergency situations to restore service quickly while ensuring safety protocols are followed. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and operational logs for compliance purposes. Requirements Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair and maintenance. Ability to operate heavy machinery safely, including tanker trucks and construction equipment. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and data analysis. Strong analysis skills to interpret system data and troubleshoot issues effectively. Knowledge of water treatment processes Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) is highly desirable. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, and conduct outdoor inspections in various weather conditions. Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain necessary certifications as required by local regulations.
