is a growing engineering and additive manufacturing company specializing in 3D printing, product development, prototyping, and production manufacturing. We work with customers across the marine, aerospace, defense, and commercial industries, producing everything from functional prototypes to production components. We're looking to add a dependable, detail-oriented 3D Printing Technician to support our day-to-day manufacturing operations. About the Position This is a hands-on position working alongside our Lead Technician to help keep our 3D printing operations running efficiently. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays attention to the small details, and genuinely cares about producing quality parts. Reliability, consistency, and a willingness to learn are more important to us than previous experience. Professional 3D printing experience is not required. We're willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible part-time work who enjoys hands-on technical tasks and working with manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities Assist with daily operation and monitoring of our 3D printers. Remove completed prints, clean build plates, and prepare printers for subsequent jobs. Perform post-processing, cleaning, and finishing of printed components. Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and consistency. Document production activities and quality checks using our internal systems. Assist with routine printer maintenance and basic troubleshooting. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production environment. Work independently to complete assigned tasks after training. Support our Lead Technician with additional manufacturing and production tasks as needed.
Qualifications What We're Looking For:
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through on responsibilities. Willingness to learn new equipment, software, and manufacturing processes. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with computers. Ability to follow written instructions and maintain consistent quality standards. Comfortable working independently after receiving training. Good communication and organizational skills. A positive attitude and willingness to take initiative. Not Required:
Personal or professional experience with 3D printing. Experience with mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or other hands-on technical work. Familiarity with CAD software, 3D printing slicers, or manufacturing equipment. Experience with quality control or production environments. Experience with Prusa and Formlabs machines. We encourage applicants with hands-on hobbies, mechanical interests, or personal 3D printing experience to apply, even without professional experience. Schedule & Availability Approximately 5-10 hours per week initially but hours will fluctuate based on our manufacturing schedule. Thursday and Sunday daytime availability is required to provide coverage for our Lead Technician. Evening availability is strongly preferred for additional shifts throughout the week. Flexible scheduling outside of required Thursday coverage. Potential for additional hours as production needs grow. Why Join AK3D? Pay:
