This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is comfortable operating professional cameras and managing the technical side of live streams. The ideal candidate has strong experience with IRL live streaming, understands how to build and maintain reliable mobile streaming setups, and is extremely comfortable working with IRL Toolkit software and the TVU Backpack system. This person will be responsible for helping us produce professional, reliable live streams in a variety of environments — including studios, outdoor locations, events, moving vehicles, and other challenging locations where maintaining a stable internet connection can be difficult. We are looking for someone who doesn't just know how to operate a camera, but who understands the entire live-streaming workflow from camera to encoder to internet connection to the final stream.

Experience / Skills

Operate professional cameras for live broadcasts, events, IRL productions, interviews, and other video content. Properly frame and compose shots while maintaining professional video quality. Follow directors, producers, or production leads during live broadcasts. Manage camera exposure, focus, white balance, frame rates, and other camera settings. Operate cameras in both controlled environments and unpredictable outdoor/IRL environments. Understand proper camera movement, shot selection, and live-production etiquette. Assist with camera setup, teardown, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. Set up and operate complete live-streaming systems from start to finish. Have extensive knowledge of IRL Toolkit software and be comfortable configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting IRL streaming setups. Have extensive experience with the TVU Backpack system, including setup, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting. Configure cameras, encoders, computers, audio equipment, networking equipment, and streaming software for live broadcasts. Monitor live streams throughout a production and quickly identify and resolve technical issues. Troubleshoot dropped frames, disconnects, bitrate problems, encoding issues, audio/video synchronization, and other streaming problems. Perform pre-production testing to ensure equipment and connectivity are working properly before going live. Be capable of diagnosing problems quickly when something goes wrong during a live broadcast.
