This is not a sit-at-a-desk-all-day graphic design position. We are looking for someone who enjoys the entire printing process—working with customers, preparing files, solving problems, creating layouts, and seeing a project go from an idea on the screen to a finished product. We produce a wide variety of work, including business cards, brochures, booklets, programs, posters, banners, signs, displays, vehicle graphics, window graphics, event graphics, and other custom print and wide-format products. Every day is a little different. What You'll Do Your primary responsibility will be prepress, typesetting, and production-oriented graphic design , including: Review customer files for print readiness, including size, resolution, bleeds, fonts, color, and other potential production issues Prepare and correct files for digital and wide-format production Create layouts and typeset customer-supplied content Design and lay out signs, banners, posters, displays, and other wide-format graphics Prepare traditional paper-based products such as business cards, postcards, brochures, booklets, programs, and flyers Create and send customer proofs Make customer-requested revisions accurately and efficiently Work with our production team to make sure files are set up correctly before they reach the press Help customers develop practical print and signage solutions when they aren't quite sure what they need Manage multiple active projects and priorities throughout the day Customer Service Is Part of the Job We're a small shop, so we all work together. You should be comfortable talking with customers and genuinely enjoy helping people. Secondary responsibilities include answering phones, communicating with customers about their projects, notifying customers when jobs are ready, and occasionally helping walk-in customers. We're not looking for someone who wants to hide behind a computer all day. We're looking for someone who can talk with a customer, understand what they're trying to accomplish, come up with an idea, prepare the artwork, and work with the rest of the team to get it produced. What We're Looking For Print/prepress experience is important for this position. You should understand what prepress actually means and why details matter before a file goes into production.

Our ideal candidate has:

Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite , particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Experience preparing files for commercial printing Knowledge of bleeds, trim sizes, resolution, color spaces, fonts, PDF standards, and basic imposition Experience with or knowledge of Fiery A strong eye for detail and the ability to catch problems before they become expensive mistakes Good spelling, proofreading, and typesetting skills An understanding of both traditional paper printing and wide-format/sign production The ability to manage multiple jobs without losing track of details Good communication and customer-service skills A willingness to ask questions when necessary—but also the experience and confidence to solve problems independently A positive, team-oriented attitude A willingness to hustle when the shop gets busy The Person Who Will Do Well Here You don't have to be an award-winning designer. You do need to care about doing good work. We'd love to find someone who gets satisfaction from seeing a finished sign installed, a booklet come off the press correctly, or a customer get excited about something you helped create. Because we're a five-person shop, everyone matters. We communicate, help each other, solve problems, and jump in when things get busy. There isn't a large corporate structure or layers of departments—you'll be directly involved in the work we produce every day. If you're creative, detail-oriented, understand print production, enjoy working with people, and like the variety and pace of a small print shop, we'd like to meet you. Experience Commercial printing, sign production, prepress, or print-related graphic production experience is strongly preferred.
