Quad seeks an Offset Sheetfed Plate Maker to produce high-quality printing plates that power integrated marketing campaigns. In this role, you will set up and operate plate imaging and processing equipment, interpret job tickets and digital files, and verify color, registration and quality. You'll work closely with pressroom and prepress teams to solve problems and keep production on schedule. Responsibilities Set up, image and process offset sheetfed printing plates to job specifications Interpret job tickets and digital files to ensure accurate plate layout and registration Operate plate imaging equipment, processors and related prepress systems safely and efficiently Inspect plates for quality, density, and defects; make adjustments and remakes as needed Maintain and calibrate CTP and processing equipment; perform routine cleaning and basic troubleshooting Collaborate with pressroom and prepress teams to resolve technical issues and meet production deadlines Follow safety, quality and color standards, documenting work and reporting issues promptly Manage materials such as plates, chemistry and supplies, ensuring correct inventory and proper handling Required Skills Offset printing plate production Sheetfed press plate requirements Computer-to-plate (CTP) operation Prepress workflow software Digital file and PDF preflight Color and registration inspection Print quality control Basic mechanical troubleshooting Equipment calibration and maintenance Occupational and pressroom safety
