Role Overview In the capacity of Lead Operator, you are essential to the coordination and support of team members tasked with the upkeep and operation of all manufacturing machinery. You will be responsible for mentoring staff, upholding rigorous safety and quality protocols, and contributing to ongoing operational enhancements. Core Responsibilities Provide instruction and support to team members regarding routine preventative maintenance tasks. Execute machine configurations and manage equipment operation to help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team. Track and discard scrap materials daily while finalizing any necessary rework to ensure production efficiency. Guide and encourage staff, stepping into their roles as needed to maintain workflow. Master the operation of every individual process station across all equipment. Resolve machine errors and initiate restarts quickly to minimize downtime and improve output. Report any product quality concerns immediately to the Production Manager or Team Leader. Required Proficiencies Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Advanced troubleshooting capabilities Proficiency in reading tape measures Expertise in precision measurement and hand metrology Maintenance and repair of spindles Configuring machines for production cycles Competency in manual machining techniques
