The successful candidate will set up, operate, and monitor flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials in accordance with customer specifications and production requirements. Experience operating a wide-web Central Impression (CI) flexographic press is highly desirable; however, candidates with hands-on experience operating other types of flexographic presses are encouraged to apply. We are looking for a technically capable operator with a strong understanding of printing processes, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret job tickets, work orders, and customer specifications. Set up, operate, and monitor flexographic printing presses according to production requirements. Load substrates, adjust press settings, and prepare equipment for production. Monitor and adjust print registration, colour consistency, ink levels, and other press parameters to achieve required print quality. Mix and adjust inks according to established formulas and colour specifications. Inspect printed materials for registration accuracy, colour consistency, print clarity, and other quality defects. Identify and troubleshoot printing, ink, substrate, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and material waste. Monitor production output and maintain quality standards throughout the print run. Complete production records, quality inspections, and required job documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press area, ink mixing area, and material storage spaces. Follow established operating procedures and workplace health and safety requirements. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality team members to resolve issues and meet production schedules. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of three years of hands-on experience operating flexographic printing presses. Experience operating a wide-web Central Impression (CI) flexographic press is strongly preferred. Candidates with experience of other types of flexographic presses are encouraged to apply. Working knowledge of printing materials, inks, substrates, and flexographic printing processes. Understanding print registration, colour matching, ink adjustments, and common printing defects. Ability to make press adjustments and troubleshoot printing or equipment issues. Ability to read and understand job tickets, production instructions, and work orders in English. Basic math skills and general computer knowledge. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Work Environment Hands-on manufacturing and printing environment requiring prolonged standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive tasks. Regular work around printing presses, moving machinery, printing inks, and production materials. Overtime may be required based on production needs. Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours when required are expected. Required PPE must be worn in accordance with company safety procedures and task-specific requirements. Safety shoes are subsidized after successful completion of probation, in accordance with company policy. Must maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all applicable workplace health and safety requirements. Work Schedule and Shift Flexibility Monday through Thursday schedule. The position may be assigned to either the day shift (5:00 AM to 3:30 PM) or the night shift (3:30 PM to 2:00 AM), based on operational requirements. Candidates must be willing and available to work either shift. Overtime or additional hours may be required based on production needs.

Pay:
