Full-Time About Us We are a premier, fast-paced custom screen printing and apparel decorating shop dedicated to producing retail-quality prints and custom gear for brands, businesses, events, and organizations. We take pride in our print quality, color accuracy, quick turnaround times, and supportive shop culture. We are currently seeking an experienced Screen Printing Operator to run our M&R Sportsman automatic press line and play a hands-on role in all stages of our shop's apparel printing process. Role Overview As our Lead Automatic Screen Printer, you will be responsible for setting up and running our M&R Sportsman automatic press while assisting across the entire shop floor—from screen prep and darkroom work to ink mixing, reclamation, and quality control. This is a hands-on position ideal for a passionate printer who understands mesh counts, print order, garment fabrics, and optimal press setup.

Key Responsibilities M&R Press Operation:

Set up, micro-register, adjust off-contact, run, and tear down high-volume multicolor jobs on our M&R Sportsman press.

Screen Prep & Darkroom Work:

Coat, expose, register, burn, wash out, tape, and block out screens to keep production moving smoothly.

Ink & Color Matching:

Mix custom PMS inks (plastisol, water-based, or discharge), manage flash settings, and choose the correct mesh counts and squeegee durometers for each garment type.

Screen Reclamation:

Reclaim, wash, degrease, and de-haze screens safely and efficiently using standard shop chemical safety procedures.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor production runs continuously for crisp registration, proper opacity, complete ink cure, and garment cleanliness.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning on the press, flash units, conveyor dryers, and darkroom setup.

Shop Workflow:

Work collaboratively with shop assistants, catchers, and production managers to ensure orders are completed accurately and shipped on schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:

2+ years of direct experience setting up and operating M&R automatic presses (Sportsman preferred, or similar models like Diamondback/Gauntlet).

Full Shop Knowledge:

Complete understanding of screen mesh choices, emulsion types, squeegee angles/durometers, exposure times, registration systems (Tri-Loc experience is a plus), and cure temperatures.

Troubleshooting Skills:

Mechanically inclined with a strong eye for detail to catch and fix print flaws (pinholes, registration drift, fibrillation, dye migration) before they reach the dryer.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to work on your feet all day, load garments efficiently, and comfortably lift boxes and screens weighing up to 50 lbs.
